POLICE REPORT
Summary of crimes and offences since 28th November 2017 to 30th January 2018 in Ward 1 Annick

Anti-social behaviour
S38 – Cause fear and alarm. One juvenile interviewed – Newmill Road
Vandalism – Damage to sign and Christmas lights. Enquiry continues – Restaurant, Newmill Road
Vandalism – Damage chain link fencing around bowling green – Bowling Club, Newmill Road
Vandalism – Damage outer pane of double glazed window by throwing stone at same – Livingstone Terrace
Vandalism – Outer pane of double glazed unit damaged by thrown stone – Lugton Road

Dishonesty
Theft by OLP – Force open temporary traffic lights and steal batteries – Stewarton Road
Theft of batteries from temporary traffic lights – Stewarton Road
Theft OLP – Theft of batteries as above – Stewarton Road

A member of the public enquired about the possibility of a traffic strip installation.  Police will respond directly to the member of public.

REPORTS
TREASURER

Station planters are ready to be installed subject to ScotRail authorisation.

£150 donation to Dunlop and District Community Company (DDCC) for use of the Village Hall was approved.

A grant application has been submitted to East Ayrshire Council for hanging baskets.

A member of the public enquired about the possibility of additional baskets. Enquiries to be made in respect of additional lamp post brackets.

Dunlop Events Association (DEA) are seeking someone from another village organisation willing to take on the role of organising their Gala Day raffle with 25% of takings to be donated to that organisation.  No community councillors were free to take on this role. Interested organisations should make enquiries to  DEA.

PLANNING

  • 71 Main Street, Dunlop – Discharge of condition no.2 – external materials
  • Construction of new 1 ½ storey dwelling with associated parking.
    Land at Kyleakin Cottage U29 Halket from A735 At Lugton To C100 Dunlop/Uplawmoor Lugton
  • Erection of dwellinghouse and formation of vehicular access Lochlibo Road, Lugton

ROADS/RAIL
No response from EAC regarding previous items raised.

It was noted that a section of A735 has no anti skid. To be added to on going issues.

Councillor Jenkins to enquire about winter gritting priorities.

Poor condition of road surfaces and repair budget was discussed.  Agreed that East Ayrshire Councillors make approach to council.

Councillor Jenkins has contacted ScotRail regarding repeated train cancellations and will continue to pursue this matter.

Fiona Lees, Chief Executive of Ayrshire Council has been made aware of the road issues in the vicinity of the railway bridge on A735. A solution will be sought.

COUNCILLOR’S REPORT
Councillor Freel provided an update on further improvements planned for Dunlop PS. At the moment there are no plans to decant children but parents will be consulted and kept informed of any changes.

There is to be a Health and Social Care PB event in Stewarton Annick Centre on Saturday 17th March. Anyone wishing to make a bid for funds to support H& SC should obtain an application form and submit by February 28th.

Council budget for Roads is to be increased by £200,000 for each of the next five years.

AOCB

The Lugton telephone box has been purchased. Further enquiries to be made regarding the ordering and installation of a defibrillator. A member of the public enquired about the possibility of creating a parking area in that location.
